Director - Forest Footprint Disclosure Project

The Forest Footprint Disclosure (FFD) Project is
looking for a new full-time Director to lead this
fast-growing international initiative that engages
investors and corporations to help reduce global
deforestation, the second largest cause of carbon
emissions to the atmosphere. 55 endorsing
financial institutions, with over $5 trillion in
collective assets under management, now support
the FFD annual Disclosure Request to international
corporations worldwide. It asks them to explain to
investors how they manage their supply chain
exposure to 'forest risk commodities' such as
timber, palm oil, biofuels, beef and soya,
production of which is the fastest growing cause
of deforestation. Participating companies include
British Airways, BMW, Travis Perkins, L'Oreal,
Weyerhaeuser, Kingfisher, Adidas, Nike, Mondi and
Unilever. The successful candidate will be an
exceptional business leader with a thorough
knowledge of the investment sector, and experience
of relevant agricultural commodity and supply-
chain issues. He or she will have excellent
communication skills and a proven track record in
organisational management. The job will be based
in either the parent organisation's London or
Oxford offices by agreement, with regular
international travel. The successful candidate
will ideally be in-post by 1st March 2011 ready to
lead the 3rd annual 'disclosure cycle' beginning
in April 2011. Salary commensurate with a senior
not-for-profit sector position and the experience
of the candidate. This is a high profile post at
the cutting edge of business engagement in forests
and climate change. FFD is a special project of
the Global Canopy Programme UK Charity No.
