The role of the College Principal is instrumental in ensuring that UCD achieves the vision set out in the Strategic Plan 2010-2014.
The College Principal is a critical academic, strategic and management link between the overall management and direction of the University and the individual Schools which form the core academic and research units. The College Principal reports directly to the President and is part of his leadership team. The College Principal has responsibility for ensuring that the Schools are working effectively towards the achievement of the University Strategic Plan and for ensuring that the Schools are adequately resourced to discharge their work successfully. In addition, the College Principal plays a key role in representing the College to external stakeholders. A central aspect of the role is the promotion of innovative practices in all dimensions of the College’s activities to enable it to anticipate and capitalise on opportunities within the Irish and broader global economies.
In discharging her/his responsibilities, it is essential that the College Principal works in a collaborative and effective manner with the Heads of the Schools, Vice-Principals, College committees and the staff within the College.
Duration of Appointment: 5 Years

Salary: Professor C Scale
Appointment on Professorial scale will be made commensurate with qualification and experience.
