PROJECT ASSISTANT - COMMUNITY MOBILIZATION & NETWORKING

Job Objective

Assist Project Officer with field job responsibilities in community mobilization, organization of community and advocacy forums, networking and day to day project field work

Reports to Project Liaison Officer

Key Responsibilities:

Ensures good networking and collaboration with communities, partners and stakeholders

Organize and coordinate community sensitization, advocacy and mobilizations campaigns with communities, partners and stakeholders

Organize quarterly review meetings with community leaders, stakeholders and partners

Deploy gender-sensitive and rights-based approaches to promote community awareness on essential reproductive health rights package.

Collaborate with councils and local authorities and advocate for gender mainstreaming and application of right-based approaches in Reproductive Health intervention and other relevant programs in the district to promote SRH for the young people to include the most vulnerable segments such as young people living with HIV and AIDS and the disabled ones

Coordinate and facilitate training and orientation activities in SRH among stakeholders in the community.

Participate fully in council planning, supervisory, monitoring and evaluation activities in Reproductive Health and other related activities.

Work closely with communities, CBOs, young people groups, peer educators, teachers and parents to promote community-based networking activities.

Organize and facilitate edutainment sessions for young people to as well include the most vulnerable segments such as young people living with HIV and AIDS and the disabled ones

Organize and facilitate production and availability of information, Education and communication (lEe) materials in the project area. Participate fully in identification, documentation and dissemination of good practices and lessons learned.

Responsible for the compilation of reports and data from partners and documents challenges and lessons at field level.

Qualifications and Experience:

Higher diploma or basic degree in community development, social/behavioural sciences, communication, public health or related and/or equivalent professional work experience in the area of advocacy and networking.

Experience in working in the area of sexual and reproductive health,. including AIDS education and life skills training, especially among young people. "

Good mobilization and facilitation skills for community-based programmes with adequate exposure to adult-learning approaches Young, energetic, outgoing, non-discriminatory, diverse and easy to interact especially with young people

Minimum of three (3) years

Good Computer skills
