Job Description:
The IIF presently seeks a Senior Research Associate to help support the Institute's economic research on select European countries. Responsibilities include gathering and maintaining macroeconomic and financial data in support of research efforts; reviewing data quality for use in research products; constructing external financing profile and external debt profile for select European countries under the supervision of Economists; conducting basic macroeconomic and statistical analyses under the supervision of Economists; conducting seasonal adjustment of time series; designing simple econometric models in E-Views for macroeconomic forecasting and policy simulations under the supervision of Economists; assisting Economists to maintain the Institute's database of historical time series and forecasts for internal and external circulation; assisting in preparing inputs for research products, presentations, special projects and general research; facilitating the work flow and training Research Assistants in the department.

Job Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have Masters degree in Quantitative Economics or Finance and 2-3 years relevant experience in a macroeconomics-focused research group such as an international organization, investment bank or government agency. Familiarity with macroeconomic and financial data sets, and experience in managing and accessing such data to support research efforts is required. Prior experience with online data sources such as IFS, Bloomberg and Datastream is essential. Solid experience with statistical packages, particularly E-Views and Demetra, is required. Advanced data management skills are necessary, especially advanced competency in Excel including the ability to use Excel VBA Editor. Ability to demonstrate an understanding to construct external financing profile and external debt profile is desired. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail are required. Ability to work efficiently and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment is a must. Must be fluent in English and have excellent English writing skills.
