Our client, Kenya Airports Authority (KAA), ¡s a State Corporation established under the Kenya Airports Authority Act (Cap 395), whose mandate is to construct, operate and maintain aerodromes, as well as provide such other amenities and facilities for passengers and other persons making use of the services or other facilities so provided within Kenya.

KAA is looking to recruit Environmental Officers

Job Purpose: To implement environmental management programs and ensure compliance of the organization to set legislation and standards.

Job Profile

• Checks to confirm KAA compliance with existing environmental regulations, guidelines and standards.
• Implements the organization EIA plan as per set targets.
• Follows up environmental action plans based on the environmental management plans (EMPs) derived from environmental impact assessments and audits.
• Inspects the development proposals within and around the vicinity of airports to ensure they meet environmental standards.
• Prepares periodic environmental reports and follows up action.
• Implement afforestation programs in airport land set aside for that purpose.
• Supervises the outsourced environmental management contracts and monitors the SLA’S.
• Monitors and reports to the Manager Environment , environmental impact of the activities undertaken by stakeholders within the airport and its environs.
• Maintains records of the EIA ,proposals and other related reports.

Person Profile

• University degree in Environmental Studies or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years of working experience in environmental management.
• Age 25-35 years
• Computer literacy.
