Applications are invited for the following positions, based in the Continental Africa Regional Office (CARO) in Johannesburg:

Principal Mining Engineers

The successful candidates will fulfill project study, business optimisation and research and analysis requirements within the Planning and Business Development sphere of CARO.

Applicants must have the following:· A Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering · 10-15 years mining industry experience · Planning and production experience using software equivalent to Mine 2-4D and EPS · Sound financial and cost modelling skills · Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) · Good organisation, facilitation and presentation skills

The successful candidates will be expected to: · Develop concise study scoping documents, inclusive of requirements, eg structure, process and people necessary to perform the work · In collaboration with the business units/mine sites, provide specialist input into the development of sound budgets, schedules of work, deliverables and study execution · Develop concise study conclusions and recommendations · Direct multidisciplinary teams from mining, engineering, resource geology, exploration geology, processing, finance and sustainability, to achieve study goals · Co-ordinate and consolidate multidisciplinary reports into a concise, coherent document · Assist with the development and implementation of systems and processes around studies at all levels · Develop sound relationships with corporate, regional and operational staff, to ensure that the Department provides a quality service to the operations · Provide specialist advice to the business units/mine sites on operational strategy execution across a wide range of activities, to support business optimisation opportunities · Analyse mining processes and activities on an as-required basis and recommend opportunities for business optimisation.
