Finding lasting solutions to poverty means putting together the strongest campaigns possible. And by providing the evidence we need to maximise their impact, you’ll make sure we’re doing the right thing at the right time for the right people - shaping the direction and quality of our work throughout South Asia.

The role
We want to strengthen our campaigns and policy work at local, national and regional level. By creating this new role, we’re investing in the skills we need to make sure everything we do is entirely evidence based. Acting as a thought leader and collaborating with influential local research institutions, you’ll produce and manage high quality analysis and research that strengthens our strategic thinking and helps us make a bigger difference. Whether you monitor major trends in the South Asia region, build research skills of our teams, agree research priorities or develop policy positions on poverty and inequality, you’ll make sure we focus on the most relevant issues – helping people to get back on their feet and move forward across the whole of South Asia.

What we’re looking for
A strong and innovative thinker with substantial experience of development and humanitarian work in countries affected by poverty, you’ll be more than familiar with the development sector. It’ll be your proven experience in policy analysis and production of policy briefing papers based on evidence and research – especially for campaigning purposes – that will stand you in good stead when supporting other researchers. And if you can bring all this plus a broad understanding of the issues facing South Asia, you could soon be enjoying a varied role that offers a real chance to make an impact at the heart of a highly respected network.

About Oxfam

It’s not just their problem. It’s ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. Thousands of people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we’re looking for yours.
