Lectureship in Air Pollution Management

Salary: £43,350 - £48,400 per annum

Applications are invited for a Lectureship in Air Pollution Management within the Centre of Environmental Policy. The successful candidate will undertake the supervision, teaching, and assessment of postgraduate research students, including on the MSc in Environmental Technology and its Natural Sciences options.

This appointment is for a fixed-term of one year in the first instance.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for strong leadership qualities in the subject and the potential to contribute significantly to the research environment of CEP. You will have proven ability or the potential to succeed in the area of atmospheric science and air pollution management and policy.

The post holder must have a good honours degree and a PhD (or equivalent) in Air Pollution Management or a closely related discipline. A track record of securing research funding and evidence of the ability to produce research for publication in highly rated journals are essential.

You will have experience of teaching at postgraduate level, giving clear, interesting and enthusiastic presentations and lectures. In particular, you will have experience of teaching within the field of Environmental Technology and its Natural Sciences options and be able to relate to students. You will also have the ability to undertake interdisciplinary research activities relating to energy, environmental quality, sustainable transitions and biosecurity. A demonstrable ability to build research related collaborations is essential. You must be able to interact with academic colleagues as part of a team in research and teaching and deliver a wide range of quantitative and semi-quantitative methods in fields related to air pollution management (teaching, research and dissemination). It is also essential that you are able design and deliver coherent study programmes in accordance with some of our core research themes.
