Salary: R236 532 per annum (Ref. DOHS/140/2012)

Requirements: • 3-year degree or equivalent qualification in Development Studies/Administration or Communication • 3 years’ managerial experience • Experience in youth empowerment and participation in construction programmes, coupled with an in-depth understanding of the National Youth Service Programme and youth development issues • Knowledge of Human Settlements Policy Framework • Good interpersonal, planning, organising, networking, negotiation excellent communication (written/verbal) and presentation skills • Monitoring, evaluation and coordination skills • Computer literacy • Valid driver’s licence • Ability to function under pressure • Project management skills.

Duties: • Support the implementation for the Youth in Human Settlements (YIHS) Programme • Facilitate the implementation of the YIHS Programme • Strengthen and support National Youth Service projects • Develop and implement Youth Development Strategy in line with National Youth Development Policy and integrated Youth Development Strategy • Implement Youth Contractor Development Programme • Provide implementation support to Provincial and Local Government programmes • Coordinate Youth Builds Projects • Mobilise key sector stakeholders for partnership in implementing the YIHS programme • Coordinate the National YIHS Forum as well as strengthen and support the establishment of Provincial YIHS Forum • Monitor progress on the implementation of YIHS at provincial level • Compile report on access to socio-economic opportunities by youth in the housing delivery programme.
