Sandvik Coromant, the world's #1 supplier of cutting tools and know-how for competitive machining, is currently seeking Process Specialists/CAM Programmers. The position will report to the Engineering Competence Center Manager - Aerospace. Location is flexible within Market Area Americas.
The Role
In this key role, the Process Specialist/CAM Programmer is responsible for producing advanced CAM programs for 3/4/5-axis and multi-task machine tools. The Process Specialist/CAM Programmer will work and apply the latest machining techniques. The position will involve working across functions such as Aerospace Specialists, Sales and others developing customer projects to support sales growth.
Key Performance Areas
  • Produce CAM programs for all levels of machines including, but not limited to, 3/4/5-axis machining centers, turn-mill centers, lathes and milling machines.
  • Produce machine simulations and become proficient using other software packages for presentations, projects and training.
  • Prepare presentation materials and make presentations for internal and external, as well as, training purposes.
  • Work closely with machine operators to ensure optimal machining capabilities.
  • Select tools and inserts for use in creating machining processes.
  • Develop Aerospace process capability by developing new or selecting and applying appropriate methods and processes.
  • Work directly with customers to prove-out specified process and programs.
  • Develop new manufacturing methods and techniques.
  • Conduct training for internal personnel and customers, as required.
  • Supports established sales targets at targeted customers.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Your Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent education/experience
  • Minimum of 3 years process engineering experience in working with Sandvik tools
  • Preferred but not essential minimum of 1 year CAM system experience.Other CAM software will be considered but preference would be Unigraphics or Mastercam
  • Good understanding of various machining techniques including milling, turning and drilling, as well as machine tool capabilities
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent English is a prerequisite
  • Ability to travel
  • Must be legally eligible to work within MAA
