Senior Aquaculture Specialist
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support on specific technical areas and research inputs for aquaculture within the aquatic agricultural systems framework of activities in collaboration with national and regional partners.
- Lead on the strategic initiatives aimed to support the aquaculture development strategies in the region most specifically in Cambodia
- Lead in management and coordination of aquaculture related research projects and provide aquaculture expertise to multi-disciplinary projects led by others.
- Produce documents with high degree of accuracy, including drafting science papers, project reports based on required format and including preparing and delivering high quality presentations.
- Organize workshops, consultations and meetings with national and international partners and stakeholders
- Oversee and manage project budget and work plans and monitor expenditure
Requirements
We are seeking an individual who has:-
- Well established career working in an aquaculture related field.
- Experience in conducting action research with private sector and communities involving a range of aquaculture systems from small holder to commercial.
- At least 5 years development project management experience in aquaculture or related fields
- Masters-level qualifications in sciences (M.Sc.), preferably to Ph.D
- High cultural sensitivity and proven record of effective coordination between multiple partners
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to write well in English with experience of reporting in English
- Strong initiative, good judgment and proven ability to work independently
