Our General Counsel is leaving us for a position at the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO), and we are seeking her replacement.
Job Description
Reporting directly to IFRRO’s Chief Executive and Secretary General, the job includes:
- Providing strategic and legal advice to IFRRO’s management, Board of Directors and membership (including on competition issues, corporate governance and risk management);
- Monitoring copyright legislation world-wide;
- Preparing submissions on draft laws and other consultations from national bodies world-wide and the European Union;
- Liaising with and coordinating IFRRO working groups and committees;
- Representing IFRRO and contributing to IFRRO publications (including delivering speeches at conferences world-wide);
- Drafting and negotiating agreements;
- Supervising part of the administration of the IFRRO Secretariat.
The position includes frequent international travel.
Profile
- English mother-tongue or equivalent, French and/or Spanish an asset;
- Law degree and minimum 2 years work experience, ideally in intellectual property;
- Competition law background or experience;
- Excellent research skills;
- Drafting skills;
- Well organised, team worker, good communication skills.
