POSITION: Reservation and Ticketing Sales Supervisor – 1 POST

REPORTS TO:  Sales Manager/Contact centre Manager.

DUTY STATION: DAR ES SALAAM

ROLE PURPOSE STATEMENT:

To supervise and ensure efficient and effective front line Customer Service in assigned outlet To provide efficient and effective customer focused passenger ticket sales & reservation

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Will be intermediate connection between Sales Manager/ Sales Executive or Area Coordinator and reservation staff

Supervisor of reservations and ticketing staff

Ensure frontline staff is properly groomed and dress as per uniform etiquette rules.

Responsible for sales returns reconciliation and submitting same in accordance to company procedures.

Responsible for following up refunds for Customers with finance and forwarding same to clients

Ensure work area is clean has all appropriate tools for work at start of day. i.e. stationery, computers functioning etc.

Carry out daily morning brief with frontline staff to ensure product knowledge and clear understanding of expectations for the day.

Ensure ticketing, reservations confirmations and fare quotations and other information to clients are in compliance with company procedures.


Intervene and assist frontline staff in dealing with special or mishandled customers when there is need to do so.

Mentor and appraise frontline Sales and ticketing staff.

provide back up to sales executive

Establish and build relationship with PW trade partners

Is familiar with results in his/her area(Targets, versus actual monthly statistics)

Develops business activities and assists in developing business activities in order to reach and surpass the set target/objectives

Keeps sales executives informed of developments internal/external

Collects information about competition activities

Passes on wishes of agents, accounts clients regarding PW product service and pricing to the sales executives

Maximizes turnover and yield results through systematic telephone calls to travel agencies and commercial accounts not on call program

Ensure and follow up proper implantation of pricing and fares

Carries out all administration connected with his/her function

Will handle travel Agencies, Corporate, Client complains and compliments

Prepare and administer the shift/leave roaster for optimum utilization of staff and resources

Lead, motivate and provide valuable support to the reservations and sales in order to provide excellent service and efficiency

Cooperates with pricing and revenue Management regarding pricing, capacity and distribution

Uses the required tools (Gabriel, PC-Systems) in the most accurate way

Analyze problems in his/her own field and will choose, advise effective and practical solutions

Will pass on necessary information to all concerned in the appropriate manner and time

Carries out all duties which may reasonably be requested and which are not includes in the job description

Any other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor

Liaise with Line to ensure optimized development processes are implemented to standard

Liaise with Line to ensure optimized development processes are implemented to standard. This involves supporting the Performance Management processes to establish need state and thereafter supporting the competence development process and application of common tools to track competence growth in each unit of the business.

Manage operational cost and quality.

Provide custody services of all employee training data

Provide reliable training support for the each dept and the wider business,

This includes ensuring delivery of Training & reporting to the wider business in a timely manner.

(a) Qualifications and Experience:

Holder of a Medical Degree from a recognized University with at least four years of relevant working experience in a similar position and must have obtained full registration as Medical Officer/Dental surgeon with Tanganyika Medical Council.

(b) Main Duties:

Undertakes all medical duties pertaining to internal medicine, surgery; obstetrics and gynecology, pediatric diseases and preventive medicine;

Attends general outpatient clinics; and

Holder of Form IV certificate plus a Nurse/Midwife certificate or Public Health Nurse Certificate.

21. Job Title: Nursing Assistant II (15 posts)

(a) Qualifications and Experience:

Holder of National Form IV Certificate who has completed a one year pre-nursing course from a recognized Nursing Training Centre with at least four years relevant working experience in a similar position.

(b) Main Duties:

Maintains cleanliness of the infrastructure including floors, walls, windows lockers, toilets bathrooms and surroundings, as well as making beds and tiding rooms and wards;

Ferries and distributes food to patients;

Assists nurses in administering drugs, dressing wounds and administration of intramuscular injections only;

Monitors and records temperature, blood pressure and purse;
Takes specimen; and

Performs any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by his/her senior.

(c) Salary Scale: PMOSS 3

22. Job Title: Clerical Officer I (2 posts)
(a) Qualifications and Experience:

Form VI certificate with two principal passes in Arts subjects and must have a credit pass in English at “O” level plus a Certificate in Records Management.

A minimum of four years relevant working experience in a similar position.

(b) Main Duties:

Maintains file movement record cards;
Looks for files and collects them whenever required;

Returns files to the cabinets and arranges them in proper order;
Keeps ready files marked B.U. for the Supervisor;

Weeds out inactive files, i.e. old closed volumes, files for people who have died, resigned, retired and those who have been dismissed or terminated;

Checks files in the cabinets periodically and ensures order and neatness; and
Performs any other duties as may be assigned by one’s reporting officer.

(c) Salary Scale: PGSS 8 – 9

23. Job Title: Administrative Officer III (2 posts)

(a) Qualifications and Experience:

Holder of a University degree in Public Administration, Management, Sociology, Human Resource Management and Law and any other relevant field.

(b) Main Duties:

Deals with general office administration with minimum supervision in one among sections falling within manpower and administration functions.

(c) Salary Scale: PGSS 7


24. Job Title: Inspector of Works I (1 post)

(a) Qualifications and Experience:

Holder of a B.Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.

At least four years working experience in similar position.

(b) Main Duties:

Implements maintenance policies pertaining to buildings;

Evaluates maintenance progress reports and makes recommendations;
Advises on issues related to the maintenance and repair of buildings;

Maintains the necessary drawings and maintenance manuals required for effective and efficient maintenance operations on buildings and equipment; and

Performs any other duties assigned by one’s reporting officer.

(e) Salary Scale: PGSS 10 – 11


25. Job Title: Janitor I (1 post)

(b) Qualifications and Experience:

Diploma in Education or Home Economics or equivalent qualification preferably with past experience in related field.

At least four years working experience in similar position.

(c) Main Duties:
Assists in supervising hall attendants;

Assists in enforcing students' rules and regulations;
Assists in keeping and maintaining proper residence records;

Assists in ensuring security in and around halls of residence; and
Performs any other duties prescribed by one’s reporting officer.

26. (a)   Job Title: Insurance Officer I ( 1 post)

(b) Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor degree/Advanced Diploma in Insurance or equivalent.

At least four (4) years relevant working experience in a similar position.

(c) Main Duties:

Assists in arranging adequate cover for existing general

policies;
Helps in studying insurance need at the University;

Understudies seniors in all aspects of Insurance and claims at the University;

Helps in the initiation of new insurance coverage where they do not exist;

Handles insurance claims arising out of the risks of fire, group/personal accident, workmen's compensation, cash-in-transit, public liability, motor vehicles, marine, fidelity guarantee, burglary and all risks; and

Performs any other duties assigned by one’s reporting office

27. (a)   Job Title: Transcriber II (Sign Language Interpreter) (1 post)

(b) Qualifications and Experience:

Applicants should possess the following academic and professional qualifications:

Holder of Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education for the Deaf from a recognized and reputable institution.

(c) Main Duties:

Assists in facilitating communication between hearing and deaf/hard-of-hearing consumers;

Provides students with sign language interpreter services in educational settings, including classrooms, conferences, field trips, meetings with school staff, telephone calls, after-school and extracurricular activities, and other school-related functions and activities for students and staff;

Translates sign language into English and Swahili in Academic presentation i.e. Seminars, Workshops and Conferences;

Becomes aware of students’ language and skill levels, ensuring appropriate interpreting techniques;

Reviews students Individualized Education Plan (IEP), as appropriate;

Monitors the need for assistive technology, including hearing aids, cochlear implants, teletypewriter (TTY), closed captioning systems, frequency modulation (FM) amplification systems, and other assistive technology;

Facilitates communication between hearing and deaf/hard-of-hearing consumers; and

Performs any other duties as may be assigned by one’s reporting officer
