The psychology discipline within the School of Behavioural, Cognitive and Social Sciences at the University of New England has an enviable record of research and teaching, providing one of Australia’s most successful and well-established programs in distance education. The discipline has a staff of 20 academics, technical and administrative support, and an extensive range of teaching, library, computing, and research facilities which include a child EEG facility.

The School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer within the discipline, to conduct research, supervise honours and PhD students, contribute to the teaching of our undergraduate and fourth year programs in psychology, and coordinate an undergraduate unit in lifespan developmental psychology. Lifespan developmental psychology will be delivered in face-to-face classes for on-campus students, and online for off-campus students (these students also attend a 3-day intensive school on campus).

Applicants must have a PhD in psychology, be able to teach lifespan developmental psychology, have a strong or emerging research profile in psychology relative to stage of career, and show evidence of strong teaching performance. Experience in distance education and curriculum development, as well as the supervision of higher degree research students, would be considered desirable.

Salary: A$77,416 to A$91,751 per annum (Lecturer) plus 17% employer superannuation and optional salary packaging
