Using vast senior management experience gained in public sector reform and the governance of maritime and natural resources, you will lead a specialised team of economists, lawyers and governance experts in assisting member countries to enhance the delivery of their public services and efficiently manage their natural resources through the delivery of targeted and innovative technical assistance projects.
This appointment is integral to the Secretariat’s Senior Management Group, influencing overall development strategies and policies; providing thought leadership; advising the Secretary-General and Deputy Secretary-General (Economic and Social Development) in highly specialised areas; and providing management oversight to dedicated and experienced teams.
The salary for this position is £104,471 gross pa plus benefits.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of a Master’s degree in public sector management, administration, economics, international law, development or a related social science discipline
- A minimum of 15 years’ experience with at least 10 at senior management level, directing a team of professional experts, in a governmental or in an international organisation
- Extensive experience of governance issues related to maritime and other natural resources management
- Substantial experience working in developing countries and prior field-based development experience
- Extensive experience of public sector development reform.
