The Carbon War Room is a non-profit initiative by a group of significant global entrepreneur brought together by Sir Richard Branson to tackle the practical obstacles to creating a strong and prosperous low carbon economy. The CWR leverages its position to champion and speed to market commercial solutions to climate change through a pro-active research, communications, convening, operations and development agenda.
CWR is seeking a talented and innovative CEO who will continue to build a pragmatic global platform with a mission to accelerate the creation of a prosperous, sustainable new economy, using the reputation and access of our entrepreneurial founders and larger global community to foster meaningful new investment in creating, building, funding and expanding low carbon businesses. The CWR stimulates initiatives involving business partners, suppliers, regulators, change agents and others who can facilitate the transition to low carbon and on select issues, the CWR mounts interventions to eliminate obstacles that major stakeholders may not be able to solve on their own.
The CEO will be a highly accomplished professional with a record of excellence in setting strategy, building relationships and using influence, a skilled leader used to achieving results. The CEO will understand how to use the CWR’s neutral status and influence to bring important parties together to create a community of engaged and informed entrepreneurs, donors, and stakeholders. The CEO must relate to the founders as a peer, excel as a fundraiser who builds relationships globally with major entrepreneurs and donors, and provide strong organizational, administrative, and financial management while being comfortable in a “hands on” role to achieve the CWR’s objectives.
