Lesotho Anti-corruption specialist
The Bureau for Institutional Reform and Democracy (BiRD) is looking for an excellent Anti-corruption specialist for a long-term mission in Lesotho.

Overall Objective: The overall objective of the project of which this contract will be a part is to strengthen the Rule of Law in Lesotho.
Purpose: The purpose of this project and therefore of this contract is to enhance a professional, accessible and impartial Lesotho Justice Sector, which will ensure fair, timely and efficient delivery of justice and effectively combat corruption. This service contract will contribute to this purpose by providing technical assistance to assist in reforming the institutions in the Justice Sector.
Key expert 3: Anti-corruption specialist (Minimum working days: 440) Based in Maseru, s/he will assist the TCU in the implementation of the Project in the area of Anti-corruption and money laundering. S/he will review the structures of the DCEO, including operating procedures, and provide technical assistance in regards to reforming such structures and procedures. This expert will work in the Directorate for Corruption under the supervision of the Director of the DCEO. He/she will also supervise the work of the non key experts hired by the consultant to provide assistance to the DCEO.
Qualifications and skills • Graduate degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, preferably in fields related to the prevention of economic crimes, forensic investigation • Very good knowledge (verbal and written) of English • Very good communication and management skills
General professional experience • At least 6 years working experience in issues relating to the detection, investigation and prosecution of economic crimes
Specific professional experience • At least 5 years of working experience involving coordination between justice institutions to ensure successful prosecution • At least 3 years working experience in an advisory capacity to senior public management officials, preferably in the Southern African region • Preferably experience in institutional reform of justice institutions
