Additional requirements: • An applicable Trade Test Certificate (Gunsmith) • At least three years’ managerial experience in the field of the post • The necessary skills to perform the duties of the mentioned post • The ability to operate the necessary equipment and machinery.
Core functions: • Maintain the Workshop Accounting System with regard to firearms • Ensure the serviceability of official firearms • Ensure the disposal of obsolete and excess arms and ammunition • Ensure Armourer Training • Enforce the compliance with the new Firearms Act ie Act, 60 of 2000 when it comes to the marking of official firearms • Properly manage and utilise all resources allocated to the immediate post environment in accordance with the relevant directive and legislation • Manage and ensure the optimal utilisation of all resources (human, physical and financial) allocated to the post.
