Analyst, TB Market

Drug Access Team Overview:
The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) works to broaden access to life-saving therapy for HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis (TB) and malaria patients in the poorest parts of the world.  CHAI approaches health access challenges with simultaneous and intensive engagement on both the demand and supply sides of the market.

On the demand side, CHAI’s country teams help governments to scale up treatment programs, improve procurement and supply chain management, and, for malaria, increase access to medicines through private sector distribution mechanisms.

Meanwhile, the Drug Access Team (DAT) work to address supply-side barriers to access and foster a healthy marketplace to ensure the sustainable supply of essential medicines. DAT works closely with drug manufacturers and multilateral organizations to lower drug prices, encourage the adoption of stringent quality standards, and accelerate the entry and uptake of new improved products.  Though CHAI’s work on marketplace improvements is organization-wide, DAT plays the lead role in managing relationships with suppliers and coordinating work globally on access to medicines.

Position Overview:
The TB Analyst will support DAT’s market analytics activities for TB drugs. This will require strong quantitative skills to aggregate and analyze commodity data from country teams and other sources. The analyst will also identify, assess, and build cases for market intervention and be responsible for communicating them to the concerned stakeholders in a compelling fashion. Product focus areas will include new drugs for TB therapy as well as existing MDR-TB drugs. The Analyst will develop strong relationships with various teams within CHAI, as well as senior management.  The position will require travel to meet key stakeholders and country representatives.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with outstanding credentials, analytical ability, and communication skills.  The Analyst must be able to function independently and flexibly and have a strong commitment to excellence.  CHAI places great value on personal qualities including resourcefulness, responsibility, tenacity, independence, energy, and work ethic.

  3. Design data collection approaches and interface with CHAI’s country teams to gather valuable market insights
