Develop world-class economic analysis to drive the fight against global poverty
The World Bank Group is one of the largest sources of funding and knowledge for development. You will take ownership of our Development Economics Vice-Presidency’s Prospects Group, which focuses on global macroeconomic projections and analysis, and you will work alongside our Research and Data Groups. You will significantly affect our strategic and operational thinking at the highest levels, whilst contributing substantially to two of the World Bank Group’s four flagship publications.
We will look to you to manage all quality, risk and results issues for your department, whilst leading outreach with external partners and ensuring compliance with agreed procedures. In particular, you will define its strategic vision in line with evolving global trends, maximize the performance of your team and lead dialogue on a broad spectrum of political, social and economic issues.
At all times, you will engage with senior management of the World Bank group, high profile stakeholders from governments, development organizations, civil society, the media and the private sector,  You will be our spokesperson in a variety of fora. This will give you an exceptionally high profile and real presence on the world stage, so we are looking for an credible performer with a proven track record.
Ideally you will have a Doctorate in Economics, backed by vast experience in relevant roles. Naturally, you will bring expert knowledge of the global economy and key markets, backed by proven ability to deliver high-impact analytical work. Using economic data and models for analysis and forecasting must be second nature to you, and you should possess impressive communication and leadership skills, made stronger by experience on a global level that includes extensive exposure to developing countries.
