Position SummaryIREX seeks applicants for the position of Program Associate in its Media, Technology and Civil Society Division. The Program Associate will assist the Senior Program Officer in overseeing day-to-day operations of donor-funded programs, assist with financial oversight, and contribute to new business development. The position will be based in Washington, but may involve some international and domestic travel.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Provide support in the implementation of media and civil society strengthening projects;
•Assist with monitoring of all programmatic and financial components of projects;
•Assist with the development of sub awards and support their management;
•Assist in drafting of quarterly and other program reports for funding agencies;
•Develop and maintain effective relations and coordination with program partners;
•Coordinate program publicity and outreach, including producing regular news and program updates, and promoting program successes to a variety of audiences;
•Ensure that all fiscal and performance activities are in compliance with IREX policies and procedures & donor regulations; 
•Provide operational support for IREX’s Communities of Practice, including event planning and logistics, researching, assembling and posting relevant technical area resources and content, and other assistance to the leadership of the Communities of Practice;
•Other administrative and programmatic duties, as needed.

Qualifications•Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred
•A minimum of one year experience in the administration of an international assistance program or experience living/working abroad;
•Understanding of development issues, especially in media, civil society and technology;
•?Past experience with USG funders preferable;
•Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills;
•Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
•Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and tight deadlines;
•Language proficiency/experience with Georgian, Arabic, Turkish, Chinese, and/or Russian preferred.
