Program Manager , World Faiths Development Dialogue

The World Faiths Development Dialogue (WFDD) seeks a Program Manager to work closely with the Executive Director, staff, and the Board of Trustees to support overall organizational and program management processes. The Program Manager is a key position within the organization, and will support the Executive Director to ensure successful rollout and operation of current projects, and to develop new funding opportunities and partnerships. The incumbent will manage all administrative and operational functions, including but not limited to financial, personnel, and contractual aspects, as well as contribute to substantive research projects. The position involves cultivating and maintaining relationships within the development community spanning faith-inspired organizations and secular development agencies to the most senior levels. The position reports directly to the Executive Director. The Program Manager’s responsibilities are twofold: program and operations management, and outreach and development. The exact breakdown of responsibilities will be determined based on incumbent experience. 

Established in 1998 by James D. Wolfensohn, then President of the World Bank, and Lord George Carey, then Archbishop of Canterbury, WFDD is a small non-profit organization that bridges between the worlds of faith and secular international development. Based in Washington, DC, WFDD supports dialogue and conferences, produces original policy-oriented research, fosters communities of practice, collects case-studies on faith-based organizations, and promotes understanding on religion and development, in part through formal relationships with the World Bank and Georgetown University’s Berkley Center for Peace, Religion, and World Affairs.

Program and Operations Management

•Responsible for all day-to-day organizational administrative and operations tasks
•Provides strategic and programmatic leadership on new and current projects
•Jointly supervises Program Assistants and Research Fellows in conjunction with Executive Director
•Serves as key liaison with partners and donors on assigned projects
•Manages program contract negotiations with partners
•Serves as main staff contact for managing partnership and collaboration with Berkley Center/Georgetown University
•Oversees jointly staff logistics, budgets, and planning for all roundtables, partnerships, contracts, consultations and events 
•Makes strategic operational recommendations to the Executive Director and Board of Trustees
•Leads organization of annual Board of Trustees meeting
•Coordinates production of and makes substantive contributions to policy briefs, research reports, and bi-annual newsletter.
•Oversees organization-level financial management, including monthly accounting and annual audits; prepares and submits annual 990
•Oversees human resource activities, including recruitment and contract negotiations for US and international positions 
•Oversees risk management and legal activities: insurance procurement, letters of agreement, contracts, leases, and other legal documents and agreements

Outreach and Development

•Provides relationship management and development for existing WFDD programmatic partners and donors
•Oversees WFDD communications including online, social media, newsletters, and traditional media, with support from Program Assistants
•Identifies and pursues new partner and funding relationships with major donors, development institutions, and foundations
•Leads the design and pilot of new partnership models with strategic stakeholders
•Writes successful funding proposals for major donor and foundation grants
•Represents WFDD at speaking engagements, partner meetings, conferences, and other relevant events as needed

Qualifications:

• BA/BS (Masters preferred) ideally with 4+ years experience in international development or related field
• Experience with non-profit organizational management and procedures
• Experience working with/on faith-based organizations and/or religion and development issues preferred
• Experience with budget management and oversight of multiple small projects
• Program design and project management experience
• Demonstrated grant/proposal writing experience
• Quantitative analysis skills preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
