GNSS Exploitation Standardisation Engineer

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The GNSS Exploitation Standardisation Engineer is integrated within the GNSS Exploitation Program team. S/He reports to the GNSS Exploitation Service Engineering Manager.
S/he is responsible for the following tasks:
- Elaborate and maintain the EGNOS/Galileo standardisation plan, manage the execution of the associated standardisation activities;
- Developing the standardisation of the SBAS/Galileo services within the different user communities and standardisation fora (ICAO, IMO, EUROCAE);
- Developing common service provision concepts and interfaces with the other SBAS Service Providers;
- Contributing to the design of the EGNOS/Galileo Services, of their extensions and of their evolutions (Service Requirements, Service Definition Documents, Performance, User and Signal Requirements and Interfaces);
- Develop and maintain the EGNOS/Galileo user segments requirements, design and operating concepts (incl. Minimum Operational Performance Specifications);
- Providing service engineering support to market development and service adoption;
- Liaising with the stakeholders which contribute to the EGNSS Services engineering (in particular EC, Member States and ESA);
- Contribute to other tasks of the Department, as necessary.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
For your application to be considered by the Agency, you must meet the following criteria:
1. A level of education which corresponds to completed university studies attested by a diploma when the normal period of university education is four years or more,
OR
A level of education which corresponds to completed university studies attested by a diploma and at least one year of appropriate professional experience when the normal period of university education is three years;
2. In addition to the above, to possess appropriate professional experience of at least six years in positions relevant to the aforementioned duties;
3. Be a national of a Member State of the European Union;
4. Be able to serve a full 5 year-term before reaching the retirement age of 65;
5. Be entitled to his or her full rights as citizen;
6. Have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the applicable laws concerning military service;
7. Meet the character requirements for the duties involved;
8. Have a thorough knowledge of one of the languages of the European Union and a satisfactory knowledge of another language of the European Union to the extent necessary for the performance of his/her duties; and
9. Be physically fit to perform the duties linked to the post.
