Grants Manager

For more than 30 years, the IRC has been providing support to Pakistanis and refugees affected by conflict and natural disaster in Pakistan. Current programs include projects from the following sectors: Environmental Health, Food Security and Livelihoods, Protection and Education.

Reporting directly to the Senior Coordinator, Program Development and Quality (SCPDQ), the Grants Manager will have the primary responsibility for generating high quality reports for the IR C and its donors. S/he will ensure that regular grant meetings are conducted with project teams, collect and prepare case studies and success stories, facilitate communication between the grants and technical units within the IRC, update grants and financial tracking tools, and maintain a database of reference materials. Under the guidance of the SCPDQ, the Grants Manager will also draft background and other sections of proposals, and may be required to represent the IRC in grant-related meetings in the absence of the SCPDQ.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintain close collaboration with all relevant departments in preparation of donor reports.
- Ensure and submit monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual donor reports, in close cooperation with SCPDQ and M&E Coordinator.
- Work with Program Coordinator and M&E Coordinator to develop and maintain program and grant tracking tools (i.e. monthly report templates, indicator tracking sheets, procurements p lans, etc).
- Under the guidance of the SCPDQ, support program development and draft background and other sections of proposals.
- Represent IRC in grants-related meetings as required.
- Facilitate proposal and donor report reviews and approvals by technical advisors and other relevant persons at HQ (including maintaining the online grant approval system).
- Lead in coordination of grants opening and closing meetings.
- Train and support program staff on donor compliance, report writing, project and budget monitoring, record keeping, and grants management.
- Lead development of case studies and beneficiary success stories to be shared within IRC and with donors.
- Store, organize and disseminate key project documents among relevant staff in country.
- Maintain proper records of all grants and sub-grants.
- Act as custodian of documentation of institutional knowledge and program activities in coordination with relevant sector supervisors and coordinators.
- This position reports to the Senior Coordinator Program Development and Quality (based in Islamabad)

REQUIREMENTS:
- Post graduate Bachelors Degree in international development or a related field;
- Minimum of 1 year experience in the humanitarian/development field;
- Experience living overseas strongly desired;
- Demonstrated understanding of project design, management and implementation processes and tools;
- Excellent English required, superior written and spoken communication skills essential;
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and logical;
- Proven ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines;
- Knowledge of at least 2 of the IRC Pakistan’s program sectors;
- Leadership and capacity building skills;
- Flexibility/adaptability to work in a diverse, multicultural team with due respect for Pakistani culture and n orms;
- Ability to live and work in an unstable, insecure environment and to manage stress effectively.
