Background
Marie Stopes International (MSI) Myanmar, an International Non-Government Organization(NGO), implements sexual and reproductive health (SRH) interventions including HIVprevention and care in a range of locations in Myanmar. MSI Myanmar delivers SRH information; commodities and services through centre based and outreach initiatives. MSI Myanmar is now expanding maternal and child health interventions and seeks qualified and experienced candidates for the following position.
Title: Cashier/ Receptionist/ Accountant
Number of opening: One
Duty Station: 1. Mawlamyine Township, Mon State2. Chan Mya Thar Zi Township (Madalay)
Duration: 12 months full time initially (with three months probation)
Opening Date: 23 September April 2013
Closing Date: 7 October 2013
Major duties include:Accounting
  • CRA have to entry the daily cash transaction at centre cash book. Everyday CIC/OIC and CRA have to check the physical cash balance with cash book balance. A Sales Voucher in duplicate should be prepared at the clinic level to substantiate all income.One copy of the sales vouchers should be given to the client and the other one kept atthe clinic.
  • The daily income must be deposited to CIC/OIC and kept in the safe by CIC/OIC and deposited once a week to the concerned bank.
  • Copy of bank deposit slip must be sent to Head Office monthly by mails.
  • Each Clinic shall fill out the Daily Intake Sheet by CRA and check it with Daily Stock Issued prepared by Clinic Nurse.
  • Referral fees Statement should be prepared.
  • Cash Receipts Voucher and Petty Cash Voucher should be prepared and kept with supporting bills or document with the vouchers.
  • Keep Petty Cash Summary and Petty Cash Book.
  • Check Clinic and CBD Stock Ledger Book and count physical stock taking monthly. The Physical Stock will be verified by the Cashier/Receptionist/Accountant.
  • Fixed Asset Registered will be maintained by Head Office. In this regard CRA will provide information. Each clinic will get an updated copy six monthly for their record.
  • Prepare Monthly Attendance Summary.
Services
  • Registered and record keeping of all Clients at Client Register.
  • Ensure friendly welcome to all clients seeking services from the clinic.
  • Assist in training of filed workers
Managerial
  • Assist the Project Manager/CIC in management of medical supplies and equipment
  • Assist Project Manager/CIC in some activities assigned by the Project Manager/CIC on office and personal management.
Reporting
  • 1 Monthly Resultscan Report
  • 2.Petty Cash Summary and Petty Cash Voucher
  • 3. Monthly Income Summary
  • 4.Monthly Attendance Summary
  • 5.Monthly Stock Taking Report
  • 6.Monthly Stock Balance Report and Damage Report
Others
  • Implement any promotion or/and /IEC activities assigned by the Project Manager
  • In absence of the Field coordinator, to be capable of performing some of her/his tasks
  • Implement any other tasks assigned by the Project Manager/CIC for the smooth running of the project and clinic activities.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Any graduate or diploma in related field

Carry out laboratory activities related to Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) and Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) in the centre accordance with National guideline Complete laboratory forms accurately and maintain samples/slides systematically forquality control Ensure appropriate use of the lab consumablesCollect and report the laboratory data timely and accurately to Project Manager Maintain records of the laboratory tests and results in proper order Keep records and documents in strict confidentiality Follow guidelines for universal safety precaution Submit monthly report according to MSIM guideline to Project Manager through Medical Officer and Township Coordinator. Accomplish any tasks assigned by the Medical Officer and Township Coordinator forsmooth running of organizational activities.

  • Minimum qualification in Grade 1 in laboratory field and prefer Medical Technologist

Person Specifications:
  • Post-graduate qualifications in public health or relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years experience in management positions for health and development projects/ programmes preferably with an NGO or UN agency
  • Strong background in sexual and reproductive health and HIV
  • Understanding of gender issues and a commitment to gender equality
  • Understanding of diversity, non discriminatory work, and community mobilization
  • Experience in coordination with different stakeholders, working in partnership with other actors
  • Experience in financial management
  • Strong leadership, planning, organizing, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to conduct travels including to remote locations
