ACF is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger and dangerous situations that threaten men, women and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working for ACF in more than forty-six countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation.
ACF Spain is looking for an Advocacy Desk to work in our Head Quarters in Madrid. The Advocacy Desk will work under the Operations Director and will have a functional link with the Head of International Advocacy based in our UK office. The Advocacy Officer will work within the Operation’s Department whose general objective is to coordinate, support and guide the organization, to optimize resources and guarantee the maximum impact of our interventions and strategies according to our mandate.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE
Develop an organizational advocacy culture and strategy for ACF-E, in line with our mandate/operational strategies and ensure an integration and increase of advocacy in the programming and communication at international, HQ and mission level.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
• Develop a strategic vision and capacity of advocacy in ACF Spain and participate to the international advocacy strategic plan
• Develop and strengthen ACF Spain missions’ advocacy capacity
• Take forward influencing on operational access and international humanitarian advocacy
• Set up robust accountability systems and contribute to present ACF as a reputable, reliable and professional organization influencing national and global decision-making
• Develop, implement and establish monitoring and evaluation of advocacy activities in ACF Spain.
PROFILE
• University degree and additional trainings on advocacy and humanitarian principles/context • Field experience in humanitarian contexts, stakeholders and advocacy • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at the same time in open work environment • Understanding and working with different cultures • Effective meeting facilitation skills • Training skills • Ability to work individually and in team • Experience in inspiring volunteers and association work is a plus • Ability to persuade and motivate others in time-sensitive situations. • Excellent English and Spanish, good knowledge of French • Computer literate, Ability to use and learn specialized IT programs/software • Windows, database knowledge • Geographic mobility
WE OFFER:
We offer immediate incorporation into a dynamic international network • Indefinite contract with a 6 month probation period • Remuneration: between 29.000 and 32.000 euros gross/year • 40 hour work-week • 25 days annual paid leave • Meal vouchers
