PSI seeks highly skilled applicants for the position of Sr. Financial Operations Accountant to provide support to PSI’s global mission.  This full time position is located in Washington, DC and reports to the Assistant Controller, Financial Operations. 
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze and reconcile enterprise funds, non-enterprise funds, and donated commodities reports submitted by field offices on a monthly basis, preparing adjusting entries when necessary;
  • Analyze revenue, deferred revenue, inventory and COGS journal entries in financial system;
  • Year-end valuation of all inventories;
  • Fixed Assets Accounting
  • Field Fringe Benefits and Severance Accounting
  • Liaising with the field offices on financial operational issues;
  • Field grading and review of country financials
  • Providing assistance with internal or external audit requirements as required
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·   4-year accounting or related degree or equivalent experience, CPA preferred
·   5+ years of accounting and supervisory experience in financial reporting, public accounting, government contracting or non-profit environment
·   Experience to include managing audits, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, inventory, COGS, financial statement preparation and presentation
·   Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively interact with senior management and individuals with varying degrees of financial knowledge
·   Demonstrated proficiency with accounting, report-writing tools, and spreadsheet software

The successful candidate will have an interactive nature; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; strong analytical and problem solving capabilities; attention to detail; and excellent organizational abilities. 

Preference will be given to candidates with exposure to Lawson or other large-scale enterprise resource planning systems.  Fluency in a foreign language is a plus
