Consultant - Microfinance Impact Assessment
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
The Microfinance Investment Support Facility for Afghanistan (MISFA) is the apex developmental finance promoting agency in Afghanistan. MISFA was set up in 2003 with a mission to facilitate the development and growth of a long-term, strong, and healthy microfinance sector in Afghanistan that provides high quality and efficient financial services to low income people.
ABOUT THE JOB:
MISFA is seeking Consultant - Microfinance Impact Assessment. The study includes conducting impact assessment of the microfinance sector in Afghanistan based on a one-time retrospective design.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Use a cost-effective middle range approach to measure the impact of microfinance interventions to improve the understanding of program impacts on microfinance clients;
- Assess the impact of financial services on clients, and will not include institutional and financial analysis.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience of conducting impact evaluations, preferably in the microfinance sector;
- Demonstrable institutional capacity, including evidence of an adequate personnel structure and legal status of the firm;
- Comprehensive knowledge of best practices in impact assessment methodologies as well as the ability to use cost-effective approaches, preferably for microfinance or in other areas of economic and social development or market research;
- Prior experience in conducting similar assignments in Afghanistan or post-conflict environment would be an added advantage.
