We are seeking to recruit one or more Senior Legal Advisors to complement our team and maintain our continued growth. The selected candidate/s will work primarily in the fields of justice, fundamental rights, free movement, consumer law and home affairs. They will be expected to become involved in the process of developing all aspects of our business and participate proactively as part of the management team.

Key tasks will include but not necessarily be limited to

• Management of complex legal/policy research and analysis projects from their inception to their completion, including:
• Liaising with clients and internal and external experts;
• Ensuring that work deliverables meet the client’s requirements and quality objectives;
• Ensuring that deadlines are met;
• Financial oversight;
• Taking responsibility for collaborative work opportunities, project delivery and project profitability;
• Provision of substantive assistance in conceptualising and writing project reports;
• Conceptualising and writing project proposals, setting up a project team and structuring budgets;
• Mentoring and development of in-house junior lawyers.

Key qualifications for the position

• Law degree, preferably with a specialisation in the fields of justice or fundamental rights;
• Five to ten years of previous experience carrying out law and/or policy studies, including in a management role, preferably for the EU institutions or EU service providers;
• Familiarity with policy analysis approaches, including evaluations and regulatory impact assessment, would be a strong asset;
• Familiarity with EU legislation in one or more of the fields mentioned above;
• The ability to work in a multidisciplinary team;
• An independent, self-starting personality with a positive “can do” attitude;
• The ability to think like a leader but act like a peer;
• Good writing skills and strong organisational ability;
• Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of other EU languages strongly desirable.
