Logistics Process Auditor: Distribution Services Region Africa
The role
Develop and control activities which include Quality, Logistics Process Support and Operational procedures for the Distribution Services operations in Africa. This includes all the warehouses that forms part of the main distribution network namely the Johannesburg Regional Hub C4 (RSA), Burgersfort (RSA), Delmas (RSA), Francistown Depot (Botswana), Mwanza Satellite (Tanzania), Kitwe Satellite (Zambia), Harare Satellite (Zimbabwe), Kumasi Satellite (Ghana), Bamako Depot (Mali), Namibia and Nigeria
Key performance areas
General Safety and Environment
  • Ensure that Sandvik Policies and Procedures are adhered to, and provide proactive and visible safety leadership in all daily activities.
  • Participation in safety improvement activities and setting the highest standards of personal safety
  • Report all accidents, incidents, and injuries immediately and ensure close-out of these incidents/accident investigations
  • Take full responsibility to manage the adherence to all policies and procedures for all personnel reporting into this function
  • Ensure all Safe Work Procedures (SOP’s/SWP’s) in Distribution Services are developed and maintained
  • Ensure alignment between global, regional and local standards and/or procedures for each of the stockrooms
  • Ensure compliance to legislation in each different country through the necessary processes and procedures
  • Ensure monthly reporting is accurate and submitted on time
  • Support the Operational performance team in executing continuous improvement projects
Quality
  • Drive standardisation of Distribution Service processes to any local, regional or global requirements
  • Drive quality assurance and control responsibilities across the Distribution Service teams
  • Develop and maintain a Quality Improvement Plan for Distribution Services
  • Action Quality Improvement Requests (QIR's)
  • Investigate any non-conformances, including process, item and procedural non-conformances
  • Develop and control any item rework processes
  • Develop, maintain and report on defined, pro-active quality gates in the different stockrooms
  • Drive the Logistics Process Support (LPS) system across all the stockrooms in the main network
  • Drive the integrity of data in the LPS system as Point Of First Contact for C4 Hub
  • Action the risks associated with any specific quality concerns, like item replacements, returns processing, item campaigns, etc.
  • Drive the development and improvement of all operational processes, including controlling documentation
  • Drive action plans for requirements of any accreditation (like ISO) consistently
Your profile
  • Matric, N2 Minimum. Formal Technical Qualification (Trade 13/12)
  • At least 3 years’ Technical experience in a mining/engineering environment is required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Distribution/Supply Chain environment
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar Technical position
  • Experience in internal and/or external customer service would be desired
  • Experience in effective communication with people or teams in different locations in Region Africa would be desired
  • Prior exposure to Aurora, DI and Qlikview highly desired
  • Proficient in Microsoft office,
  • Exposure to (Sandvik) ISO management systems processes and procedures
  • Proven ability to work efficiently within a Distribution Service environment and complete duties in an autonomous manner.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate, liaise and negotiate with a range of stakeholders
  • Commitment to excellence and timeliness in internal client service
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong and proven focus on business and process improvement
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must be willing to travel in Africa
  • Valid Code 08 Drivers License
