Communication Manager (M/F)

Cefic, the European Chemical Industry Council, is both the forum and voice of the European chemical industry. It aims to maintain and develop a prosperous chemical industry in Europe by promoting the best possible economic, social and environmental conditions to bring benefits to society.

Cefic is located in Brussels (Auderghem) and employs more than 160 people.

For its Petrochemistry department, Cefic is looking for a (M/F):

Communication Manager (M/F)

Responsibilities    

• assist and support the Executive Director and the sector groups in designing and implementing the internal & external communication strategy
• Manage all official Petrochemicals Europe and related sector group publications, such as press releases, website texts, brochures, op-eds, newsletters, etc.
• Develop and implement a social media strategy for the department and act as focal point for all internal and external communication/media enquiries
• Support industry working committees of the association when required
• Assist with monitoring the media landscape and analytics, data entry and overall management of communication database

Background and experience

• Master degree or equivalent in communication or journalism
• English native speaker or fluency in English close to native speaking (additional languages are an asset)
• Min. 3 years of experience in communication, editing or writing with proven success

Skills & competencies

• Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to understand complex policy and scientific issues and to articulate them in a simple, catchy way including using story-telling, case studies, illustrations, infographics and social media
• Excellent computer, web management and social media skills
• Good organizational skills of co-ordinating several projects and team works at the same time
• Charismatic personality with good social skills
