Services Coordinator

Child Helpline International is the global member network of child helplines, working to protect the rights of the child. We work in around 160 countries and are founded on the belief that children and young people not only have rights, but that they alone are the best individuals to identify their problems if they are equipped with the proper tools.

The role of Services Coordinator
The Services Coordinator will work closely with the Programme Manager for the European Region and the Operations Team and will report to the Head of Operations.

Based in Amsterdam, the Events Officer will be involved in most of the European Programme activities and therefore in contact with CHI member and partner organisations in over 40 European countries.

Job description

• Pre-meeting and onsite communication with event participants.
• Coordinate logistics of CHI events and trainings.
• Updating web content and social media platforms: Facebook, NING.
• Coordinate reporting to the European Commission.
• Report on expenses to Head of Operations.
• Prepare donor reports.
• General administration and filing.
• Adhoc tasks when necessary.
• Taking minutes and preparing reports.

Candidate profile and requirements

• At least 3 years work experience in event logistics or related field.
• Excellent and demonstrable organisational, planning and project management skills.
• Expertise in the creative, technical and logistical elements of event management.
• Demonstrable ability to prepare and manage budgets.
• Experience in reporting to donors.
• Fluency in English; written and spoken. Knowledge of other European languages (Spanish) is an asset.
• High level of written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a small international team.
• Demonstrable networking skills.
• Ability to handle multiple programmes and work under pressure.
• Flexibility and cultural sensitivity.
• Ability to travel occasionally.

General Information
• €850-€910 gross per month depending on years of relevant experience.
• The contract period is until 31 December 2011, commencing as soon as possible.
• Hours per week may increase to 20.
• This role will be carried out as a job share.

Child Helpline International is based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The working language of CHI is English.
