Broker is looking for editors
The Broker is a website in English, with a magazine and email newsletter, that focuses on development and globalization. We host academic and policy discussions for policy makers and other professionals from ministries, NGOs, the business sector and international organizations. We are on the verge of launching an ambitious partner plan, with an eye to expanding our international reach in the near future. In support of this effort, we are looking for several freelance editors (0.4 to 0.8 FTE). | ||

| Requirements: - Academic thinking and working level - Extensive knowledge of the subjects dealt with by The Broker - Affinity with the academic world is a must - Demonstrable experience writing journalism in English - Experience with journalism for online publications - Pioneering spirit and ability to work independently, with a feeling for team spirit Key tasks and responsibilities: - Support one or more specific web journalism projects - Write web texts - Coordinate and stimulate online debates - Develop theme-based networks - Conference reporting, by means of blog posts, video interviews Competencies: - Writing skills - Communication skills - Compassion - Creativity - Initiative - Result-driven - Committed - Flexible Location: The Broker editorial office in Amsterdam. The appointment initially comprises projects for a period of two to six months. The intention is to extend this to a one- or two-year position if the candidate proves suitable.
