Campaign Intern, EVERY ONE

Location: London [Hammersmith until July 31, Trafalgar Square after July 31] Duration: 3 days a week for 4 months, starting as soon as possible Closing Date: 26th July 2011

Every child is born with the right to survive – and yet thousands die needlessly every day. Save the Children’s global campaign, EVERY ONE, is determined to end this injustice and save children’s lives.

We are tackling the most common causes of newborn and child deaths, such as diarrhoea, pneumonia and malaria, by ensuring proven solutions are within reach of every child. Working with others, we believe we can succeed. We are building a movement in over sixty countries to support action to save children’s lives and urge leaders to live up to their promises to children.

This role will provide the intern with experience of working within a busy campaign team for an international NGO, supporting the delivery of our most ambitious campaign yet – with the objective to achieve Millennium Development Goal 4.

You will manage a range of exciting projects for the campaign. These may include supporting the implementation of global campaign projects, producing written communications to engage Save the Children colleagues with the campaign, and working with global member and program countries to collect material related to fundraising and monitoring and evaluation projects.

You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines, working with people of different cultural backgrounds in a face paced and rapidly changing environment. You will also need a high level of computer literacy, a degree (or working towards completing one) and a valid UK work permit.

Please see the Job Description for more details about the role, and the skills, experience and attributes we require.

Applicants can apply by sending a CV and covering letter to SCIRecruitment@savethechildren.org
