Trading Ledger Subject Matter Expert Finarch

As Trading Ledger Subject Matter Expert you will act as a solution and market specialist in the Finance and Risk area, who works closely with the Sales and the Development team. You will be the trusted discussion partner for potential and existing clients across the Financial Services industry, in order to understand their requirements and solve business issues by successfully delivering innovative and competitive solutions via presentations and demonstrations. By providing state-of-the-art support, you contribute to the sales success.

Your main responsibilities are

  • Assisting the Sales team to drive revenue by:
    • preparing and delivering product demonstrations for customers;
    • co-ordinating and actively participating in Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for customers;
    • providing content and Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge to customers.
  • Giving strategic directions on when to go to which markets with what product by performing analysis and research as well as by being up-to-date with the latest best practices of Trading Ledger functionalities;
  • Contributing, in close cooperation with the Development team, to develop new features and products by managing prototyping projects.

You report directly to the Head of Product Strategy. You will be based at our head offices in Merelbeke (Ghent) and you are willing to travel (inter)continentally.

Professional and Personal skills required

  • Master's degree in Economics, Business Economics, Business Engineering and/or specialization in Banking and Finance;
  • Profound experience of about 7 years in a banking or investment environment, more specifically in Trading Ledger (P&L, valuations, risk, position management) is a must. Experience in a Product Control function is an asset;
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus:
  • Finance: IAS/IFRS, multi-GAAP, consolidation, valuation management, amortised cost, hedge accounting;
    • Risk: Basel III, Fund Transfer Pricing (FTP), Economic Capital, Liquidity Risk;
    • Management Information System (MIS): profitability, RAROC;
    • Compliance: Dodd-Frank.
  • Customer- and service-minded with excellent communication and presentation skills. Focused on finding solutions;
  • A good team player, who is eager to learn and to work autonomously in an international environment;
  • Adaptable to change and feeling at ease in a quickly evolving environment;
  • Committed to accuracy and completeness;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft tools;
  • Fluency in English, all other languages are an asset.
