Clinical Research Fellow in Cardiology (Heartcycle)

University of Hull - Division of Cardiovascular/Respiratory Studies

A research fellow is required to support a large programme on telemonitoring for heart failure. Within the programme, the fellow will be expected to lead a clinical calibration protocol for non-invasive equipment that may be used for home telemonitoring. The applicant will be required to be or become proficient in echocardiography, bio-impedance, DEXA scanning, pulse-wave analysis and lung function testing. The programme will also require leadership in projects related to home telemonitoring for heart failure and for rehabilitation after myocardial infarction.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of one of the largest heart failure clinical and research service in Europe. The research programme could lead to an MD thesis and several ‘first-author’ papers.

Applicants should have full GMC registration, previous cardiology experience and must have obtained MRCP (UK) or equivalent. Those who wish to pursue a career in cardiology will be preferred.
