Afghanistan HID Program Coordinator

AKF,A currently manages and implements the largest, multi-sectoral development programme within the network and has built a strong reputation with the Government of Afghanistan, donors and local partners in a number of technical fields. At present, it is seeking an exceptional individual to fill the position of HID Program Coordinator at its National l Program Office – Afghanistan

      Job Summary:

Grant management supporting AKF’s integrated development programming, producing high quality reporting and monitoring of impact, sharing successes and lessons from programming and liaising with external stakeholders in the relevant sector. Ensuring good knowledge management and coordination, and facilitating better integration between programs and sectors.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: • Reporting: Ensure high quality donor reports are submitted on time; obtain all relevant information from program staff in a timely manner; monitor reporting deadlines and ensure timely preparation and consultation with field and sector staff. • Impact Monitoring: Work with sector-specific staff to design monitoring tools, share them between program regions, regularly track project results, ensure adequate data collection for high quality donor reports and develop case studies that analyze and document key lessons. • Financial monitoring: Work with the Finance Team to monitor expenditure against grants, explore reasons for variance and address any problems in good time. • Resource mobilization and proposal development: Identify future resource needs in the relevant sector and highlight future funding gaps. Coordinate with sector experts and regional teams to prepare new concept notes and full proposals to donors; lead the process of consultation and proposal writing. • Strategic Communications: Develop case studies and communications materials for external audiences, articulating achievements, impacts and lessons learned. • External relations: Develop constructive working relationship with relevant donors, represent AKF in external meetings with relevant donors and in national policy fora and working groups with other key stakeholders. • Integration between sectors: Ensure regular communication with Program Management Support Officers and sector staff in the field on regional/national developments, and work with other National Managers and Coordinators to develop innovate linkages between sectors and programs. • Knowledge Management: Keep thorough electronic records on all relevant grants, produce and disseminate meeting records with external stakeholders and regularly update the grants management database. • Coordination: Organize biannual coordination team meetings and PMSOs quarterly exposure visits to the different regional offices in liaison with the Director of Policy and Partnerships. • Coordinating development of pre-screening and budget papers • Supporting senior management in the development of strategic documents • Conducting focused research and program reviews

Required Qualifications and Experience: • Masters Degree in relevant field • Excellent written and spoken communication skills • Ability to respond effectively to deadlines and high pressure situations • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage internal reporting systems • High level of cultural adaptability and sensitivity • Solid understanding of key development concepts, particularly in relation to integrated programming • Establishing systems for reporting and monitoring within portfolio, both in Kabul and regions
