Grade 8: £36,862 - £44,016 p.a.
We are seeking to recruit an Area Safety Officer with responsibility for the five pre-clinical departments located in the University Science Area. You will work closely with the heads of departments and departmental safety officers to advise on health and safety matters, and to monitor and assist in the implementation of the individual departmental safety policies. This is a full-time post available from November 2011. Health and safety experience is essential as is a degree in a relevant subject and experience of working in a biological or clinical research environment. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an organised and flexible approach to work. Previous experience in a management role and a NEBOSH qualification are desirable. This post is an excellent step for those wishing to develop their career within health and safety management.
