Full-time Doctoral Scholarship in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences

The Graduate School, which incorporates the African Doctoral Academy, is a HOPE Project initiative in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences to strengthen and advance doctoral training and scholarship on the African continent.

Suitable candidates who are citizens of an African country are invited to apply for three-year full-time doctoral scholarships in the research programmes of the Graduate School in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, to commence studies in January 2012. A maximum of twenty scholarships are available to the value of R120 000 per year for three years.

Collaborative research, supervision and exchange will be encouraged through PANGeA (Partnership for Africa’s Next Generation of Academics) involving leading universities elsewhere in Africa.
