Technical Field Manager

MAG has worked in Lao PDR since 1994, making it the most established and experienced humanitarian UXO clearance operator in the country. MAG is currently looking to recruit a Technical Field Manager for our programme in Laos.
The TFM is responsible for providing the national provincial managers with technical advice and expertise within the context of the provincial projects delivery and within the mandate of provincial capacity building. The primary focus will be on the facilitation of personnel development and the reinforcement of the authority and competence of national managers. Due to this we are seeking applications from candidates with strong skills and experience in capacity building, development of national staff and development of HMA programmes.

We are looking to recruit an advanced EOD Operator, level 4, with a thorough understanding of the application of IMAS to National Standards and the design and application of organizational SOPs. In addition, you will need previous experience in operational training, management support and capacity building over a prolonged period of time. You will need to be able to demonstrate previous experience of encouraging, motivating and developing the technical capabilities of national technical staff to allow them to perform to a high standard. This is a demanding and high profile TFM role that will require excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to form close and productive working relationships with national staff and local authorities.

The salary for this role is £45,000 - £50,648pa and per diem of up to US $5,000pa. Annual leave starts at 6 weeks a year and increases with service to 8 weeks. MAG will also provide accommodation, three international leave flights per year and comprehensive insurance, amongst other benefits.
