GES Economic Adviser – Intellectual Property Office, Economics, Research and Evidence Team, Innovation Directorate
GES economic advisers are crucial for effective government policy – across almost all walks of life. Your activities will be influential and far-reaching. We currently have positions in the following departments:
- Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
 - Intellectual Property Office, Economics, Research and Evidence Team
 
There may also be posts available in other Government Departments and locations.
As well as a 2:1 or an MSc in Economics, you will demonstrate  substantial current experience in your career as a professional  economist. We are looking for people with strong analytical capabilities  who are ready to put their skills to work in the formulation,  implementation and evaluation of policy. You will need to demonstrate a  good knowledge and ability to apply economics, and your capability in  analysis and use of evidence, managing people and finance, programme and  project management. Relevant experience in the specific areas  advertised is also desirable.
Salaries for Economic Advisers depend on post and location, but are in the approximate range £47,000 to £57,000.
