Job Summary:
The Principal Finance Officer (Accounting & Budgeting) is responsible for managing the Bank’s accounting and budgeting functions and for the overall effectiveness of financial internal controls. The incumbent is responsible for developing and preparing the capital, income and expenditure budgets; formulation of accounting and financial management policies; ensuring the timely preparation and submission of financial statements,  management and board reports; providing inputs into  the Bank’s corporate plan and financial management strategy and ensuring that the accounting and budgeting functions are carried out in accordance with best practice standards and in conformity with internal policies and procedures.
Job Specifications:
  • A Master’s degree in finance or accounting and a professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CFA or CIMA;
  • Strong financial management skills with a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant supervisory level professional experience preferably in the financial sector;
  • Excellent knowledge and familiarity with financial instruments and the application of various international financial reporting standards;
  • Strong analytical, financial modelling and report writing skills as well as the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;
  • Highly proficient in the use of enterprise resource planning systems particularly SAP.
