Job Specification
Basic Function of Position: The HCT Coordinator works under the supervision of the Counseling and Testing Lead to assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of a national program of HIV Counseling and Testing under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and provides technical assistance and oversight to external partners in implementing the program’s activities in South Africa. The incumbent serves as a primary CDC contact for external partners for all issues related to CDC-supported counseling and testing activities and serves as the Activity Manager for multiple CDC supported counseling and testing cooperative agreements in South Africa. The incumbent contributes to the planning, development, and review of the counseling and testing components of the annual Country Operational Plan (COP) for South Africa. The incumbent insures collaboration among PEPFAR South Africa partners involved in HIV/AIDS care and treatment programs and promotes the use of internationally recognized best practices in HIV counseling and testing and care and support among PEPFAR sponsored programs in South Africa. Identifies training needs and participates in the development and implementation of training courses for partner organizations.
