Objectives of the role:
The project administrator will be responsible for ensuring the general coordination of project activities through the coordination of a variety of activities (communication and visibility, research and dissemination, political dialogue) associated with the implementation of a large technical assistance project in the field of climate change. The administrator will also manage a team of KE/NKEs from a variety of backgrounds and oversee reporting and monitoring activities whilst ensuring the correct functioning of a project that will take place across Latin America.
Length of the project: 36 months
Start Date: September/October 2013
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in political science, engineering, economics, law or other relevant discipline
- Fluent command of both written and spoken Spanish is essential, with good English and/or French required. Other European languages, especially Portuguese, would be an advantage
- Excellent organisational skills, including extensive experience in the organisation of seminars
- Excellent communication, analytical and document drafting skills
- A dynamic person, pro-active, able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
General Professional Experience:
- At least 3 years’ experience, with at least one of those years managing the administration and finance of projects, preferably projects related to cooperative development
- Experience of writing reports, agenda management and scheduling would be an asset
- Experience in accounting
Specific Professional experience:
- Experience of using databases and contact list management with regards to exchange of information
- Experience of preparing and organising events (seminars, talks etc…) for more than 50 people
- Experience in web design and management
- Latin American experience would be beneficial, especially in areas related to climate change
