Senior Monitoring and Evaluation
The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has received funds from the African Development Bank (AfDB) which funds are to support the IGAD Drought Disaster Resilience and Sustainability Initiative (IDDRSI) and implement the IDDRSI Strategy.
The Secretariat intends to use part of the funds to recruit a Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Expert for purpose of building capacity and re-enforcing management of the IGAD Secretariat in implementing the IDDRSI Strategy.

Duty Station Djibouti
1. Job Summary
The Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Expert will support the management and technical teams of the IDDRSI and IGAD Divisions to ensure the successful delivery of the various programs /projects as a whole against performance measures. The position will involve the design and management of monitoring activities and making contributions to the preparation of documents, proposals and reports. The post will involve direct contact with projects/programs and Member states on M & E issues.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent shall:
• Design and update IDDRSI and IGAD M & E systems and reporting templates for various categories such as proposals, quarterly progress reports and annual/final reports
• Coordinate and ensure the maintenance of all M&E reporting and data management systems across all IDDRSI Programs and collaboration with of IDDRRSI with IGAD programs/projects
• Collate project monitoring data, analyze and produce quarterly/semi-annual reports as per the requirements of IDDRSI, IGAD, Member States and (GA) Development partners
• Undertake case studies on lessons learnt from measurement of impact, sectoral/thematic issues and analysis of Resilience Program interventions actions
• In collaboration with the various programs of IDDRSI, support preparations for events and workshops and disseminate quarterly M+E reports as appropriate.
• Undertake any tasks, within his/her field of activity that the PM Planning and Coordination and / or IDDRSI Coordinator may entrust to him/her
2. Qualifications and experience required
• University degree in Statistics or the social or biological sciences
• Post graduate degree in M & E
• At least 3-5 years experience in managing M+E systems and
• 5 years of experience in the field in the dry land development and / or agricultural sector would be added advantage
