WWF European Policy Office, Sustainable Consumption Policy Officer
We are looking for a Sustainable Consumption Policy Officer who will be responsible for the development of a European WWF sustainable food roadmap and for ensuring the implementation of WWF’s sustainable food advocacy strategy, and for engaging with politicians, key decision makers, business and other important stakeholders.

Location:
WWF European Policy Office in Brussels, BelgiumMain responsibilities:
- Coordinates the development of a European WWF sustainable food roadmap
- Ensures the implementation of WWF’s sustainable food advocacy strategy
- Engages with and lobbies politicians, key decision makers, business and other important stakeholders with support from line manager and Public Affairs Officer
- Represents WWF at conferences and meetings with the European institutions and EU Member States in agreement with line manager and the WWF network
- Keeps close contact with relevant international WWF teams and initiatives (Market Transformation Initiative, Smart Fishing Initiative/Seafood, WWF International and green economy initiatives etc.)
- Acts as coordinating hub for European and global WWF offices regarding European policy on sustainable consumption with specific attention to food and commodities
What you need:
Required Qualifications- Preferably specific experience in the food and drink industry or related fields and sustainable supply chains
- A detailed knowledge, understanding and experience, normally 3-5 years, of working with EU institutions
- Experience of working on, and understanding the complexities of EU legislative and policy files
Required Skills and Competencies
- Excellent written and spoken English. A second language an advantage
- Good representation and coordination skills, capacity to negotiate
- Ability to think strategically and seeking solutions to complex issues
- Proven skills in networking and advocacy based work
- Excellent team player, dependable and able to organise remote teams
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work across cultures
- Adheres to WWF’s values: Knowledgeable, Optimistic, Determined and Engaging
