Account Manager Public Affairs - Healthcare
FleishmanHillard is one of the world's leading public affairs and communications groups, with over 80 offices worldwide. The Brussels office consists of about 70 full-time consultants and is seeking a professional to join its established Healthcare practice. The Healthcare team consists of 7 full-time consultants, although we collaborate with colleagues across the office on their specific areas of expertise – e.g. chemicals, financial services, environment policy. Our philosophy hinges very much on supportive team working and it is important that new additions to the team are a good “fit” in this respect. This role will contribute to the creation and implementation of public affairs programmes including providing political intelligence services, developing positions and messages on policy issues, advising and implementing outreach programmes and being creative in our overall approach. Candidates will be expected to proactively network through attendance at relevant events and support the growth of the thriving Healthcare team by actively contributing to finding and developing new business opportunities.
A successful candidate will have:
Work experience
- A minimum of 4 years of professional work experience
- Experience in a consultancy is an advantage, working in client-facing roles
- Previous EU institutional experience is an advantage, but not a prerequisite; other Brussels-based roles will be considered as an advantage
Knowledge and understanding
- Background in pharmaceutical and consumer health areas – ability to give strategic counsel in these areas is a must
- Good knowledge of EU policymaking process, institutional actors, and the broader range of Brussels stakeholders and media
- Understanding of client business operations (beyond communications)
Skills and abilities
- Candidate will need to demonstrate ability to translate political and policy initiatives into relevant strategic advice for clients
- Excellent writing and communications skills; fluency in English a necessity (fluency in other European languages an advantage)
- Initiative and creativity when it comes to problem-solving
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work in a team
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
