The Organisation
QGC is a leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on supplying cleaner hydrocarbon energy to growing domestic and international markets.

We are establishing Queensland Curtis LNG, a world-first project to turn reserves of natural coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland into liquefied natural gas (LNG) – a carbon efficient fuel.

QGC, which is wholly owned by the British energy company BG Group, employs more than 4,300 staff and contractors.
Position Summary
QGC Phase II is the next significant stage in the development of QGC resources post-2014. Phase II consists of a mixture of greenfield and brownfield unconventional gas developments. The successful delivery of Phase II will enable QGC to meet its production target into the mid-2020s.
A key component for delivering Phase II is the current, on-going Appraisal program. The principal focus of this program has been to gather reservoir and well productivity data for both QCLNG Phase I and the Phase II development.

At present, there is significant work yet to be completed, including reservoir characterisation wells, producing pilots and stimulation wells. The first responsibility of this position will be to support the Appraisal Manager Surat to drive delivery and utilisation of data from this program by coordinating both the sub-surface design and analysis (Developments, Technical Services) and the delivery (Area Asset teams). In addition, the Surat Appraisal team is responsible for driving the definition, budgeting, and approval of any new or incremental field based program (e.g. additional stimulation program, multi-well pad trials, technology pilots) required to define or optimise the development potential in QCLNG Phase I and Phase II tenements and any nearby Surat Basin CSG tenements (e.g. ATP 965) through at least the RR3 (Assess) decision gate.
The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the Appraisal Manager Surat to deliver the Surat Appraisal program through successful planning, coordination and delivery.
