Deputy Chief Examiner for Information Technology in a Global Society

The IB Diploma Programme information technology in a global society (ITGS) course is the study and evaluation of the impacts of information technology (IT) on individuals and society. It explores the advantages and disadvantages of the access and use of digitized information at the local and global level.

The International Baccalaureate® (IB) is currently seeking to make the appointment of: Deputy Chief Examiner for Information Technology in a Global Society

Applicants must have:

• recent experience in teaching / lecturing the subject in higher education
• academic qualifications in the subject at an appropriate level
• availability to fulfil commitments, attend meetings, meet deadlines and respond to queries
• enthusiasm for e-marking
• commitment to international education
• management experience/leadership skills
• reliable broadband internet connection
• knowledge of Spanish and/or French would be an advantage.

Senior Examiners supervise a subject's examining teams, maintaining the integrity of IB assessment.

Appointments will last a maximum of five years. Much of the work can be carried out from home; occasional meetings in one of the IB's European offices may be required.

The closing date for applications is Friday 10th January 2014.

Successful applicants will be notified by the end of May 2014.

Appointments will take effect from September 2014.
