About SMEC Urban
SMEC Urban is the urban development consulting division of SMEC Australia employing more than 170 staff including civil engineers, surveyors, town planners, urban designers and master planners, landscape architects and project managers. We provide integrated consulting services needed to plan, design, construct and manage projects from concept to completion.
The role
We are currently seeking a Land Surveyor Assistant and Drafter for Subdivisional set-out, as constructed survey and Auto Cad drafting on a casual basis.
We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to become part of our highly skilled and professional team.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Understanding Spatial Information & Mapping
- Use and care of surveying equipment
- Undertaking instructions and assisting senior surveyors
- Assisting with data transfer, field survey set-out & data collection, reduction and processing
- AutoCAD drafting
- Self checking and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as an individual or as part of a team
Suitable applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:
- VCE Year 12 Mathematics & English (or equivalent)
- Proven experience of working in the Australian market
- Previous experience in Australian survey field and office duties
- Possess current Victorian manual drivers license
- Awareness of safe work practices
